July 2010 Martin Cornish with his first barbel of the new season, caught in 30 degrees of heat, mid afternoon. Having only cast in for 3 minutes - his rod did the usual 90 degree bend and this pristine condition 11 lb barbel was in the landing net! Well done Martin, your self-portraits are getting a bit better – only cut off the top of your hat this time. |

July 2010 Ben Sharman with his first double figure Barbel at 14lb 3oz. The specimen Rother fish beats Ben's previous best by 4lb 5oz and was witnessed by his fishing buddy Steve 'The Biker' Warner. Top angling Ben! |

July 2010 A very pleased looking Jack Horton pictured with a PB 4lb tench caught in the Tench Pond at Hurston Lane. Jack caught it on the pole at 6.00am towards the end of his first all night fishing session. The successful bait was sweetcorn. Jack, as usual, outfished dad Trevor who accompanied him on the session. Well done Jack! you'll have to give dad a few tips. |

July 2010 This cracking 11lb 7oz carp that Rother Bailiff Mike Kitchener caught came while he was free lining bread for some chub that he'd spotted in the shallows at Coultershaw, it just drifted out of the deep and bullied past the chub to take it! Just goes to show you never know what you might catch on the Rother. |

July 2010 Although Rother Bailiff Mike Kitchener's river campaign has yet to produce that first barbel of the new season he is not complaining. His tally of fish caught stands at nine Chub up to 4lb 4oz and two bream including the 6lb fish pictured left. Bet it won't be too long before that first Barbel is banked Kitchy. |

June 2010 Club Bailiff Freddie Horne had a pleasant surprise when this 1lb 10oz roach snatched the chickpea he was using to target the carp in peg 15 at Stemps Pond. Freddie reckons there are a number of sizeable roach in both Stemps and Cart ponds which are well worth targetting. |

June 2010 A lot of youngsters get hooked on fishing after catching their first perch so what could be a better way to start the 2010/11 Season's Gallery than this lovely shot of four year old Oliver and the Perch he landed during a session at Hurston Match Pond. Oliver was fishing with dad Mike Kitchener one of our Rother bailiffs and he also had several good Roach and Rudd which were taken on caster. A switch to worm accounted for the Perch. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of Oliver in the future if he's following his dad's love of the sport. |
