March 2009 Friday 13th - Unlucky for some, but not for Rother Barbel ace Peter Foster who finished the season off with yet another double figure Barbel. This latest fish weighed 12lb 11oz and comes hot on the heels of the fourteen pounder he had in February. Well Done again Peter! We look forward to seeing your catches next season. |

February 2009 Peters patience pays off! With several fishless sessions over the last few months Peter Foster was more than relieved to slip the net under this superb 14lb 2oz Barbel. It is Peter's second fourteen pounder from the Rother and only an ounce behind his best which he had at about the same time of year last season. |

October 2008 Despite having fished many of the country's top Barbel rivers and catching numerous Barbel it wasn't until Barry Stanton landed this fish from the Rother at Coultershaw that he achieved his ambition of a double. A delighted Barry is pictured with his 12lb 4oz PB Barbel, and to top it off he had another of 11lb 6oz an hour later. Congratulations Barry! ... that will certainly be a day to remember. |

October 2008 Fishing alongside his Dad Trevor at Hurston Lane Fishery, 12 year old Jack Horton had his first ever carp on his very first fishing trip. Caught on a whip to a single maggot size 18 hook to 1 1/2lb bottom, the fish weighed in at 3lb. Not a bad way to start fishing and done with skill an experienced angler would have been proud of. Well done Jack, watch out you Match anglers in the future! |

October 2008 Chris Hewes with a Chub of just over 4lb caught on a hair rigged 11mm hali hook pellet topped off with a mini strawberry boilie. Fishing near Shopham Bridge, in Chris's words - 'the crows were coming home to roost at the time, the air was laced with mist and the full moon'ish was rising over my left shoulder, it was one of those magic hours you get whilst fishing.' Well put Chris! |
