Weed at Hurston Lane

We are again experiencing quite a lot of weed in the ponds at Hurston Lane. In order to tackle this we have a weed clearing work party scheduled for Wednesday 2nd June starting at 5.00pm. I have also decided to cancel the match that was booked for the tench pond so that we can concentrate on the work that needs to be done.
If you have a couple of hours free on Wednesday, please make the effort to help out. If you have a strong landing net on a strong handle bring it along with you as this is the best way of lifting the cut weed from the lake. If you have waders or even better chest waders bring those along as well. If we are able to tackle the weed early enough we will hopefully be able to keep it down for the rest of the season.
